Our review
Plush and hard wearing, but a bit portly

Syncros have built the AM to last, with chromoly rails and a hard-wearing combination of real leather on the top and sides, and Kevlar on the nose and corners. The most obvious feature, though, is the AM’s fat nose.

It’s both broad and tall, with a healthy slug of padding that means shuffling up to the front for spinning up steep sections of trail isn’t much of a chore. Further back the padding gets a little denser, preventing that sinking feeling, but it’s still on the soft side as saddles go.

That tall, chunky nose is matched by rounded rear corners that minimise the chance of snagging your shorts. The AM is a somewhat portly perch though; at 317g our test sample is knocking on for half as heavy again as some similarly priced saddles.
