The Silverado is the official saddle of Brian Lopes, so it comes with a pedigree attached. It’s designed with a titanium alloy rail and a flex-tuned shell to soak up shocks, plus a wide shape that allows for more even weight distribution across your sit bones.
All said this should be one comfy ride, especially when you add in the pressure-relieving channel and flat nose section for more forward movement. But much as we tried to enjoy this saddle for all those well-chosen component parts, we just couldn’t get on with it.
It was hard to settle and get comfy on – and this is from a tester whose backside can put up with most saddles for the duration of a single ride – but the Silverado managed to make its presence felt in a really irritating way.
This was the case for most of the other testers too, but when we found the odd person it did fit all those niggling issues just went away. This is a Marmite saddle – you’ll either love it or hate it.
