Incredible value, performance and the best colourways out there at the moment…

A good full-face helmet is essential for downhill racing. Sooner or later you’ll need it to protect yourself when you hit a tree at full tilt.

THE Industries’ One has a very similar profile to Troy Lee's classic D2, the daddy of downhill lids. However, the One has a slightly fuller appearance from the front and a deeper opening which offers slightly better vision than the D2. The shape means goggles sit more on your face, rather than the helmet.

Inside is a dual EPS liner which, combined with the tough shell, exceeds CPSC and CE safety standards – so you know you’ll be safe when you’re clobbering your head on the odd tree stump.

D-ring fittings make adjusting the strap easy, although we missed the little tab that D2 helmets have to make it easier with gloves on. The fit is good and the liner is removable for washing.

The only niggle we could find is that goggles without silicone on the straps don’t sit well on the curved rear of the helmet. It's a bargain compared to the carbon D2's rather steep £299 or even the composite D2's £219.
