A new set of aerial shots of London's Olympic Park have been released, with the impressive velodrome taking centre stage.

With 2012 just round the corner the new images, released by the Olympic organising committee LOCOG, show just how far down the line the construction work is. They show the velodrome, which in February became the first park venue to be completed, together with the BMX track, which hosted the Supercross World Cup test event in August. The two venues will form part of the post-Olympic Velopark, together with a mountain bike trail and road circuit.

The velodrome will get its first taste of action early next year when it replaces Manchester as the fourth and final leg of the UCI World Cup from 17-19 February.
