Cube is getting serious about time trialling in 2013 with the Aerium Super HPC series. It's a development from the previous Aerium model that straddled the line between road and TT bike and there's no mistaking which court it's landed in.
The frame, its aerodynamics optimised through many hours in the wind tunnel, features a number of wind-cheating devices such as a Di2 battery mounted into internally. It’s also built using “twin mold carbon technology” which keeps excess material to a minimum.
It’s designed equally for time trial or triathlon use, so had an adjustable stem and two different seatposts depending on which sport you’re competing in. The top bike in the series, the Aerium SHPC SLT (£9199), weighs in at just 7.4kg and features a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset on a Vision chain ring.
The Aerium SHPC SL (£7499) uses a different grade carbon but also comes with Dura-Ace Di2 and Reynold’s Aero Carbon 72/90 wheels. The entry-level model, SHPC Race (£3799) comes with Ultegra Di2 and Easton EA50 Aero wheels.
