More than 150,000 votes have been cast in the 2013 BikeRadar Most Wanted Awards, which showcase the most desirable products of the year. The window for voting closes this week – Thursday 29 August, to be exact – so hurry if you want to be in with a chance of winning featured gear.

As the voting culminates, we’re spotlighting a couple of the categories where competition is at its most fierce. The sportive/gran fondo bikes competition was always going to be tough, with all the big brands having offerings and the bikes’ innate speed, comfort and practicality meaning they’re popular consumer choices.

We eventually whittled the down the selection to five bikes – the BMC GranFondo GF01, Cannondale Synapse Hi-Mod, Focus Cayo Evo 4.0, Giant Defy Advanced 2 and Trek Domane 6 Series.

Most of the bikes have serious race pedigree. The BMC, for example, got an outing at this year’s Paris-Roubaix, and the Synapse is very closely related to Pater Sagan’s Classics bike. Then there’s the Giant, which won the hearts and minds of Cycling Plus magazine, who named it their 2013 Bike of the Year.

Which one would earn your vote? Let us know on the BikeRadar Most Wanted Awards page.
