Canyon customers in the US can now get fully assembled bikes delivered and even fit to them by the mobile bike shop chain Velofix. Mobile service fleet Beeline Bikes has expanded with a similar program for Raleigh, iZip and Diamondback. Together, the two brands are offering a third retail option to the traditional bike shop with in-person assistance and internet operations that offer good pricing but no in-person service.

Brands on board for front-door delivery

Raleigh, Diamondback and iZip ship new bikes through Beeline2U. Online retail giants Backcountry.com, Amazon.com and Competitive Cyclist also offer Beeline assembly and delivery services for the bikes they sell.

Some of the participating brands require a purchase of $500 or more, some will have a Beeline service van build the bike after the bike is delivered to your home or office, and still others let you choose between an initial build or the bike's first tune up as part of the purchase.

Canyon is leaving it to customers to decide which delivery option is best. The standard delivery method uses Canyon's Bike Guard box, which comes with all tools needed, including a torque wrench.

Canyon USA president Blair Clark said that while the standard delivery "has satisfied hundreds of thousands of customers" the new service with Velofix will offer personal assistance from a professional certified mechanic.

The Velofix option costs $95 and provides a professionally built bike to your door as well as assistance for the first bike fit.
