Washington state retailer Cascade Bicycle Studio and Seven Cycles recently teamed up to create what they are calling a "four-season cyclocross bicycle" called the CXR. Cascade Bicycle Studio is the exclusive dealer of this bike, which store founder Zac Daab says is equally at home on a gravel ride as a commute.
“We wanted to create a cyclocross platform that could be ridden beyond the ’cross season,” Daab said. “Race bikes are great tools for three months out of the year, but fall short in other disciplines. The CXR is a cyclocross race bike, a rainy-season winter bike, a full-time commuter and a Gran Fondo gravel bike.”
Race it, ride it, commute on it: The new CXR
Cascade Bicycle Studio is selling the CXR in either steel or titanium, with V brakes or disc brakes, in six sizes. The CXR frames have fender eyelets, as does the carbon fork.
The CXR can handle up to 35mm ’cross tires or 32mm tires with fenders.

Each CXR includes a fitting at Cascade Bicycle Studio with Daab or partner Terry Buchanan.

Pricing ranges from $2,350 for a steel CXR frameset up to $6,740 for a titanium CXR with SRAM Force 22 and Mavic Crossmax SLR 29 disc wheels. Full build options can be found at cascadebicyclestudio.com. Custom build options, such as that shown on the green bike here, are also available.
