Online retail giant Chain Reaction Cycles has confirmed it is set to open a standalone store in Belfast, Northern Ireland this year.

The family-run business, which started out back in 1985 as Ballynure Cycles, believes the time is ripe to take its technical expertise to the high street. They claim the state-of-the-art store will offer a ‘revolutionary new shopping experience’ and will stock much of what you can find on their website, including road, mountain, commuting and triathlon bikes, as well as components, clothing, footwear and tools.

The retailer currently operates just outside of Belfast, in a huge warehouse BikeRadar took a behind the scenes tour of earlier this year, and the new store would represent a first for them.

Jim Berkeley, Head of Retail, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for us, transferring our years of knowledge, buying power and service to the high street environment. We can’t wait to offer customers – both new and existing – a high quality face-to-face service which will mirror the high level of support we currently provide our online customers.

“We love ‘all things bikes’ at CRC and are committed to offering quality stock and great service to our customers, enabling more cyclists, triathletes, swimmers and runners to benefit from our great value products.”
