Chumba Racing have unveiled two new hardtail mountain bikes – an updated 26in-wheeled HX1 and an HX2 29er.
The HX1 is Chumba's take on the long-forked, do-it-all hardtail, with a 68-degree head angle when the intended 140mm-travel suspension fork is fitted.
The HX2 shares similar features – including a double-butted 6061 T6 aluminium tubeset, tapered zero stack head tube, U-shaped chainstay yoke and eccentric bottom bracket shell for easy singlespeed conversion – but is designed to be used with a 100mm fork.
Both models will be available in anodised black, anodised silver or powder coated white. They'll be available in the UK via Progressive Bikes. Frames will cost £399 and should be available from late January 2011. 'Rolling chassis kits' will also be available, featuring Fox forks, Hope wheels and Thomson parts.
