Cliffhanger, billed as one of the largest outdoor pursuit festivals in the UK, is set to return "bigger and better" for 2011. The Sheffield event, which saw over 20,000 people pass through its gates over two days last year, will once again take place at Millhouses Park on 2 and 3 July.

Visitors of all ages can watch elite competitions and professional demonstrations in sports as diverse as rock climbing, kayaking and skateboarding, and then take part themselves. Biking features prominently across the weekend, with six free events across a range of disciplines.

There'll be bike polo, mountain bike stunt demos and coaching, and a bike demo area. A mountain bike pump track (a loop filled with banked corners and rolling bumps that can be ridden with minimal pedalling) and a Rollapaluzza (where two cyclists battle it out on rollers over a simulated 500m distance) will also be available, along with a timber mountain bike trail.

Entry is £6 for adults and £1 for under-17s. Tickets will only be on sale at the gate on both days. Visit the official website for more information.
