Colnago has recalled the CF10 and V1-r road bikes it produced in collaboration with Ferrari due to a potential “crash hazard”.

The V1-r was Colnago’s first aero road bike, while the ultra-exclusive CF10 had a production run of only 100. The bikes were sold from August 2014 to April 2015 for between US$4,800 and US$12,000.

The recall affects about 400 frames in the United Stated and 34 in Canada.

No incidents or injuries have been reported, but the fork is the defective part, with Colnago warning that the front brakes can detach during use.

Colnago says that, “Consumers should stop using the recalled bicycles and bicycle frame kits and contact Colnago America for a free inspection. If the hole in the front fork for the brake mounting bolt is not at least 12 mm in depth, the front fork will be replaced free of charge.”

If you’ve got a Colnago CF10 or V1-r bought between the dates listed above, get in touch with Colnago America by calling toll-free at (844) 265-6246 from 9am to 5pm CT, Monday through Friday or online at www.colnago.com and click on "Colnago recalls bikes and frame kits” for more information.
