Course announced for 2011 TransWales

Organisers of the Gore Bike Wear TransWales powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport have released details of the course for this year’s event, which starts on 13 August.

There’ll be a standalone prologue marathon, seven un-timed linking stages and six timed special stages, including one day over the border in Shropshire. In total, riders will cover 534km and face 15,255m of climbing.

Organisers say: “Not just endurance but also tactics, the right equipment and an ability to pace yourself will be key to enjoying as well as to winning this event.”
