Curve and Castelli have made special jerseys to benefit the Colorado towns hit hard by last month's flooding. Castelli partnered with Slipstream Sports for a benefit to Open Heart Colorado, while Curve's jerseys proceeds will go to the town of Jamestown, a popular mountain stop for many Front Range cyclists.

"When the historical rains and subsequent flooding happened in September the picturesque little mountain town of Jamestown was devastated. All of the thousands of cyclists who ride the road up to Jamestown for a great workout punctuated by a stop for a snack at the Merc or water from the coolers the town leaves out for us, and all of the mountain bikers who enjoy the trails around Jamestown were left without a destination that has become part of our culture," said Curve spokesman Doug Williams. "But beyond that, way beyond that, the folks who live in Jamestown were left without a way in or out of their town, a badly damaged infrastructure including municipal water, and in many cases, without a place to live."

Curve connected with the volunteer group Cyclists 4 Jamestown, which is having a fundraiser this weekend to help the town.

All proceeds ($30) from the $60 Curve jersey will go to the Cyclists 4 Jamestown fund. Boulder's Excel Sports is selling the jerseys online here.

For Castelli and Slipstream Sports (the parent company behind the Garmin-Sharp pro cycling team), the Colorado Drop Jersey proceeds will go to Open Heart Colorado, supporting health and human services for those affected in Boulder and Broomfield counties.

“We were devastated to see what happened in Colorado and we wanted to find a way to help our local community,” said Jonathan Vaughters, CEO of Slipstream Sports. “Together with our partner, Castelli, we were able to come up with this special jersey and proceeds will be donated to help victims of the floods here in our home state. Our thoughts continue to be with all of those affected.”
