A retro calendar featuring iconic images from the past 40 years of professional cycling will go on sale later this month.
2012 Les mémoires du Peloton has been put together by online retailer Prendas Ciclismo from the archives of cycling photographer John Pierce. It’s the third year they’ve run the calendar, which they claim has adorned the walls of notable members of the cycling community, including Sean Kelly, Pat McQuaid and Bernard Hinault.
Next year’s theme is the rainbow stripes of the World Champion and was conceived around the time of Mark Cavendish’s Copenhagen triumph. Other champions to be honoured include Eddy Merckx, Tom Simpson, Greame Obree and Paolo Bettini. It comes in the same 260mm x 210mm format as previous years and will be available directly from Prendas from 21 November for £9.95.
