Ducati are famous for their bikes of the motorised variety, both on and off road, and now they've licenced another legendary Italian marque, Bianchi, to produce a range of non-motorised Ducati mountain bikes.

Which is why also showing at the recent 2008 Bianchi launch was a select range of Ducatis including the Scrambler 140, (named after Ducati's classic off road motorbike) it features the patented System FFS all mountain rear suspension mated to a Marzocchi Roco 3 positon air shock with lock out and a 140mm travel Marzocchi Bomber XC700 fork up front. Shifting is taken care of with a mix of Sram X9 and X0 with an FSA Afterburner chainset, wheels are Mavic's Crosstrail discs paired with Hutchinson Bulldog tyres, while 'bars, stem and post are all from Easton. Avid's Juicy 5 hydraulic discs take care of braking.

Anyone buying one of the new Ducatis is guaranteed a fair amount of exclusivity - the range is small and so are the production runs, in the UK there is only one dealer (53-12 of Colchester) the retail price of the Scrambler 140 is £2.5k sizes S,M,L.

Ducati have also launched a road range to read about that click here.

Bianchi Sok Also on display and standing out amongst the more standard sized machines at the launch was this all new 29er from Bianchi with a classy retro finish ands solid dependable kit from WTB (wheels, tyres, post, saddle) hung from its triple butted Easton frame (mated with a Rock Shox Reba fork) the Sok will be available in two versions a geared and a singlespeed, stopping on both is handled by Avid's Juicy 5 hydraulic discs.
