Entries are now open for this year's British 4X Series, which has new title sponsors in the shape of tyre makers Schwalbe. There will be seven rounds between April and September, held at some of the best four-cross tracks across the country.

Series organiser Chris Roberts says: "2011 looks set to be another amazing year for four-cross, with growth once more here in the UK. Inquires about the series from riders are well up on previous years, many of the tracks have had changes over the winter and now to add Schwalbe as the title sponsors is a huge boost. I can’t wait to get the series underway at Leamington on 3 April."

The rounds are as follows:

  • Round 1: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, 3 April
  • Round 2: Penshurst, Kent, 8 May
  • Round 3: Afan, South Wales, 28 May
  • Round 4: Harthill, Cheshire, 16 July
  • Round 5: Southwest Extreme, Devon, 6 August
  • Round 6: Southwest Extreme, Devon, 7 August
  • Round 7: Redhill, Gloucestershire, September 18

"If you haven’t been to a British 4X race then maybe 2011 is the time for you to get involved and have a go," says Chris. "Entry fees remain at just £25 (pre entry) and for that you get a full, fun day of racing in an atmosphere that's relaxed and enjoyable. Camping is available at every venue and most people arrive on Friday nights to make it a great weekend."
