The Etape Eryri, a new cyclosportive taking place in North Wales on 17 June, has confirmed that Chris Sutton and Michael Barry from Team Sky will ride the inaugural event.

The tie-in came through nutrition company Gatorade, who sponsor Team Sky and, along with Chain Reaction Cycles, sponsor the Etape Eryri.

Michael Barry said that he's looking forward to it: "Coming off my injury this will provide a great training ride, in a beautiful setting with people who like I, just love to ride a bike. It is pretty cool that Gatorade has used some of their time with the team in this way, it is always great to get out and spend time with the other people who live, eat and breathe your sport."

The Etape Eryri features three routes: 103 miles (Etape Mawr), 76 miles (Etape Canol) and 47 miles (Etape Bach) to cater for different levels of rider. It starts and finishes in Caernarfon, in the shadow of Mount Snowdon, and promises to be a challenging and picturesque ride with beautiful views of Wales' tallest peak.

Ticket prices range from £27 for the short Etape Bach to £35 for the Etape Mawr. For more information and to book tickets, visit www.alwaysaimhighevents.com
