The two main talking points on Mondraker’s stand at this year’s Eurobike trade show were the new Zenith and Factor RR full-suspension mountain bikes.
Zenith
The all-new 170mm-travel Zenith comes in two versions – the XR and X – both of which are built for hardcore Megavalanche-style enduro downhill riding.
Designed with the help of team rider Fabien Barel, the higher-end Zenith XR has a Fox 36 Float RC2 Fit fork up front paired with a DHX Air 5.0 shock out back.
The 2x10 gearing is a mix of SRAM X0 and X9, wheels are DT Swiss EX 1750s and an adjustable headset is included for geometry tweaking. The spec is topped off with a CrankBrothers Joplin dropper seatpost.
The Zenith X gets a lower-spec package including a RockShox Lyrik fork, DT Swiss E540 wheels and a mixture of SRAM X7 and X9 taking care of the 2x10 gearing.
Factor RR
Mondraker’s 120mm-travel Factor RR has had an overhaul for this year, and comes in two different specs. The more expensive option has a RockShox SID World Cup fork, Shimano XTR groupset and DT Swiss XR 1450 wheelset. The cheaper RR gets an XT group and X430 wheels.
Summum
The company’s well received Summum downhill machine will come with Marzocchi’s 888 fork in 2011 and there’ll be limited edition colour frames released too, in yellow or purple and black. These will be packaged with adjustable headset cups and wheelbase length adjusters.
