Marin are set to hit 2012 with a tidy mixture of trusted platforms alongside carefully designed new models. Like just about every other self-respecting big bike brand these days, they will, of course, be offering 29ers.

The new Pine Mountain is set to cost around the £1,500 mark and is aimed at the all-day trail rider. Alongside tidy retro graphics are a 100mm-travel (4in) RockShox Recon Silver Air fork and SRAM X9/7 mix, and a claimed 13.3kg all-in weight.

Backing it up will be the £2,500 (approx) Rift Zone 29er XC7. With a Fox 32 Float fork up front and a Float RP2 shock at the rear, it offers 100mm (4in) of travel and light-yet-powerful Formula RX brakes. The Rift Zone cross-country/trail package is also offered in a full range of 26in-wheeled models across a decent range of pricepoints.

The well-established Attack Trail has been on the 'roids a bit for 2012 but still looks set to offer fast-paced, all-day fun alongside harder-hitting versatility. The 6.9 version gets 150mm (6in) of travel via a Fox 36 Float RLC fork and RP2 rear end, the brakes are meaty Avid Elixir 7s and the drivetrain is a chunky 2x10 setup.
