Spanish dirt jumper Andreu Lacondeguy, a member of the Kona Clump team, has introduced his Kona Lacondeguy Inc. signature frame at Eurobike in Germany.
“I really wanted a bike that was clean and simple,” says the 20-year-old from Barcelona. "Something made specifically for really aggressive tricks."
Lacondeguy is notoriously hard on his equipment, so he and the Kona designers chose air-hardened Reynolds 835 chromoly steel tubing for better snap and shock absorption. The stiff, oversized and low-slung (Lacondeguy is 5ft 3in) front triangle is mated with a short, snappy rear end for power.
Other features of the frame include a 1.5in head tube, internal headset, integrated seat clamp bolt located under the rear stays, flat black paint job and zero graphics (wonder how Kona let that one pass final inspection?). The diminutive Spaniard added his own, we noticed.
“This bike is insane. Really super-sick,” says Andreu, who has been riding his first signature model since early July.
