After a successful debut series this year, the 2011 Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour will kick off with the Vienna Air King dirt jump comp on 2-3 April.

Now in its sixth year, the event will feature a completely new course layout in the centre of the Austrian capital. The jumps are now on an incline, which should mean higher speeds and bigger air.

From the massive wooden launch pad, riders will hit a drop followed by a step-down, three massive dirt jumps and a step-up/step-down. More than 50 riders from 15 nations are expected to take part.

The 2010 competition saw Britain's Sam Pilgrim and Sweden's Martin Söderström in a head-to-head battle for first place, with Pilgrim coming out on top.

Vienna Air King will take place during the ARGUS Bike Festival, which will also feature a large expo area. For details, visit www.vienna-air-king.at.
