The final round of the Chain Reaction Cycles MTB Marathon Series 2010 powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport takes place this weekend (18-19 September) in Ruthin, North Wales.
Exposure Lights Big Night Out Night Marathon
The action kicks off at 7.30pm on Saturday with the Exposure Lights Big Night Out Night Marathon. Now in its fifth year, over 250 riders are expected to line up for the mass start.
They'll face a 44km course with 1,350m of climbing, on a route that includes everything from forest singletrack and moorland dual-track to short stretches of road.
All riders will get an ELBNO Buff when they cross the finish line, along with coffee/tea and cake. Fully charged Exposure lights will be available to buy before the race. For details or to enter, visit the event webpage.
Chain Reaction Cycles MTB Marathon
There'll be a choice of four courses for Sunday's MTB Marathon, which starts at 10am – a 30km (1,000m of climbing) mini marathon, 55km (1,900m of climbing) half marathon, 73km middle distance event (2,500m of climbing) and 92km full marathon (3,000m of climbing).
The route heads out into the Clwydian Hills and consists of fast flowing singletrack linked by bridleways and technical forestry sections. Riders will climb up onto Moel Arthur and Moel Famau, where there are spectacular views of the North Wales coast.
