The Forte is MET's latest road helmet, which takes design and styling cues from the Italian company's top-of-the-range Sine-Thesis lid but comes in at a third of the price.

Weighing in at 243g on our office scales, our prototype version of this £59.99 helmet is actually lighter than its more expensive brother.

It lacks the Sine-Thesis's composite exoskeleton that directs air over your head, and its gel padding, but 18 vents mean it should still be fairly cool.

The Forte is designed to fit head sizes from 52 to 59cm. Production versions are expected to hit shops later this month. Look out for a review on BikeRadar as soon as we can get our hands on one.
