Los Angeles-based Red YouR Dead is a 'trick track bike' company, launching its US$649 Masher model with a 650c front and 700c rear wheel.

Founded by Blake Coburn and Patrick Winget in the summer of 2009, Red YouR Dead had been selling single speed and fixed gear bikes in Los Angeles for more than two years before launching a brand designed for the 'young and fearless rider'.

"One thing we wanted to accomplish with the 'Masher' was to offer a bike with a stock 650c front wheel," Coburn told BikeRadar. "Not many bikes out there are offered with this setup, although demand for it is very high."

The Masher is a Taiwanese-made 4130 chromoly steel frame with a straight-blade fork. The fork steer tube is 1-1/8-inch threadless for the integrated headset. Sizes include 46, 48, 50, 52, 54 and 56cm. For a limited time, customers can order the frameset, which includes a 26.6mm diameter x 300m long seatpost and square-tapered bottom bracket for US$300.

For 2010 Red YouR Dead plans to have at least five more models, designed through collaboration with its team riders. The company also plans to have models that have slightly different feels for every type of rider. current riders include Nick Narachi and Sean Coats.

"We both were into BMX riding growing up in Oklahoma and love being a part of something that helps the younger generations stay active while being creative," Cobrun added. "Both of us put all we have into this brand and enjoy doing it."
