First look: Salsa El Mariachi titanium

Plus All City’s Big Block frameset

Ison Distribution were displaying many new products over the weekend at BikeRadar Live, and of special note was the new Salsa El Mariachi titanium 29er.

Built from 3/2.5 seamless titanium, and based on the geometry of the steel El Mariachi , this £1699.99 frame is designed to be used with 80mm-travel suspension forks and will fit tyres up to 29x2.3in.

Highlights include a biaxial ovalised down tube, replaceable derailleur hanger, welded-in water bottle cage bosses and pewter-look Salsa Lip-Lock seat collar. Claimed weight is 3lb 11oz for the XL.

Ison also had the £375 Big Block frameset on show from All City Cycles. This is a UCI track-legal fixed gear frame made from 4130 chromoly steel.

Features include dimpled chainstays, plus dropouts with built in chain tensioner and the HennepinBridge icon – the bridge in Minneapolis where All City Cycles are based.
