A box from Spank just arrived in the office containing some tasty looking new all-mountain and downhill/freeride bars and stems.

First up are the Oozy bar and stem, designed for all-mountain and trail centre riding.

The 3D forged CNC machined stem comes with titanium bolts (blue anodised on our sample) which help keep weight to a paltry 142g – not bad for an item designed to take some abuse.

It's available in six sizes (60, 70, 80, 90, 100 and 110mm) and two colours (black and white), and the four-bolt frontplate takes an oversize (31.8mm) bar.

The matching scandium Oozy riser bar is a whopping (for a trail bike) 700mm/27.5in wide, with a six-degree backsweep and four-degree upsweep.

It features Spank's XGT (Extreme Gradual Taper) butting, with a wall thickness of 2.2mm at the centre and only 1.2mm at the ends, which are marked for easy cutting down.

Spank's beefy Oozy bar and stem are designed for all-mountain use

The Spike bar and stem are designed for more hardcore use, on downhill and freeride bikes. The 35mm-long oversize stem includes an integrated top cap and star nut and weighs in at 170g (150g without top cap).

The Spike 777 bar is, as the name suggests, a massive 777mm (30.6in) wide, with an eight-degree backsweep and four-degree upsweep. Again, it features XGT butting, with the wall thickness tapering from 3mm to 1.6mm.
