Vans have made a return to the cycling-specific market with the Warner SPD shoe, aimed at mountain bike and BMX riders.

The £85 Warner has a lightweight rubber sole with Vans' trademark “Off the Wall” waffle tread pattern. The company have tried to make the shoes as lightweight and stiff as possible by reducing material where it’s not needed.

A ‘self-centering’ tongue aims to keep debris out of the shoe, and a moulded sock liner is added for comfort. The colour you see here isn’t available to buy yet in the UK, but distributors Wiggle do have black pairs in stock. Look out for a full review in an upcoming issue of Mountain Biking UK.
