Fancy using the exact same 175g fi’zi:k Antares saddle and Split:Tape bar tape as Garmin-Slipstream’s Christian Vande Velde or Cervélo TestTeam’s Carlos Sastre? For US$220, you can share the same custom kit as the top fi’zi:k-sponsored pros.
Now in its seventh year, the limited edition team replica kits available in North America include Garmin-Slipstream (white and black), Team Cofidis (white and red), Cervélo Test Team (black and red), and Team FDJeux (white and royal metal blue). The custom tape is not available separately.
According to fi’zi:k’s US marketing coordinator Suzette Ayotte, even though Team Columbia-Highroad races the Antares, their white and yellow colour combination never sells.
“Our sales team knows that (white and yellow) is not a good sell-through colour,” she told BikeRadar. “That colour, however, is probably being offered in Europe or in select countries based on what each country’s distributor is stocking.

“Another example: Team Milram rides the Antares in white/candy blue,” she explained. “This one will be sold in Germany only as only the German distributor wants to carry this colour. It wouldn’t make sense for Italy to carry the Team Milram saddle in a colour that probably won’t sell so well anyway. Liguigas rides the bright green/white Antares, which is probably being ordered in much of Europe but not, for example, in Germany.”
While the popular Arione is still fi’zi:k’s number one seller, the Antares has caught on quickly among road riders. The Antares combines design features of the Aliante and Arione, with a 274mm stem to stern. The 142mm width is the same as the Aliante, which fi’zi:k says accommodates a wider range of sit bone widths.
