The third annual Cobble Wobble – a 179 yard flat out sprint up a cobbled street in Frome, Somerset – is set for this Sunday (25th September).

The tight, twisting Catherine Hill will once again host the event, with categories for all ages and abilities. The top 20 riders will qualify for the ‘Charge Bikes King of the Cobbles’ race, a showdown between the Cobble Wobble’s fastest and some of the top riders from the biking world. Some of the names set for action include World Cup 4X/BMX racer Lewis Lacey, UK Enduro DH racer Aidan Bishop, trials rider Martyn Ashton and 2009 winner Neil Cousins. Last year’s winner, trials rider Chris Akrigg, won’t be back to defend his crown following the serious injuries he sustained in a riding accident earlier this year.

While all entries to this year’s race have been filled, organisers say it’s a spectacle not to be missed. The under 13s race kicks things off at 3pm, with the King of the Cobbles race wrapping things up at 8.30pm. For more information, visit the event website.
