Danny Hart's incredible ride to win the 2011 world downhill mountain bike championships was done astride a Giant Glory. It wasn't a stock model, though, but a prototype of the bike that Giant has just released for the 2013 model year. We had a look at Danny's rig earlier this year.

According to our sister site ChopMTB, the big news is that the 2013 Glory's head angle has been reduced from 65.5° to 63.5°. And with a longer wheelbase and lower bottom bracket, it should be more stable at speed, as well as when landing massive, Hart style whips.

Giant use a tapered fork steerer is 1.125in-1.5in for the fork, versus the straight 1.125in models still prevalent on downhill bikes. Elsewhere, it’s business as usual, with the same floating-pivot-point Maestro suspension design delivering 8in of travel, and the same FluidForm ALUXX SL tubing creating a light but strong chassis. Even the graphics remain largely the same, just replacing gold with black.

Pricing has yet to be announced by Giant.
