Just in time for hunting season, or cyclocross season, Giro is releasing a limited edition off-road version of its Empire cycling shoe, in a camouflage print with safety orange laces and lugs.

Only 400 pairs have been produced in the limited edition colorway, 250 of which will be available for sale at retail worldwide. Every pair will be numbered, to commemorate the release. The Empire MTB will retail for US$300 (UK pricing TBA).

The Empire mountain bike shoe uses the same classic laced closure and upper construction as the road version, plus the lightweight carbon fiber outsole used on the top-end Code mountain bike shoe.

The first 50 Empire MTB shoes are currently being sold though Giro’s monthly First Friday 50 promotion, which offers specially designed Giro products to the company’s Facebook fans. For more information visit www.facebook/girosportdesign.com.
