Help name Schwalbe’s new enduro tyre

Win a Cube AMS 150 mountain bike

Schwalbe’s back catalogue of tyres includes the Dirty Dan, Racing Ralph, Nobby Nic and Sammy Slick. And now they want Facebook users to help name a new tyre that’s been designed in conjunction with Trans-Provence winner Nicolas Lau and enduro specialist Max Schumann. What’s it worth? As well as eternal kudos, a Cube AMS 150 mountain bike is up for grabs.

The winning name will reflect the tyre’s qualities: speed and puncture resistance. The as-yet-unnamed tyre is based on a new construction method dubbed Super Gravity, which appeared in Schwalbe’s Hans Dampf and claims to offer the sidewall protection of a downhill tyre with the tackiness and reduced weight of a freeride-style model – perfect for the cross-cutting discipline of enduro.

Schwalbe are running the competition via their Facebook page, and are taking entries until 25 February 2013. A panel, including pro riders, will select a final shortlist of names that will then be put to the public vote, again via Facebook, on March 10 2013.

So if inspiration strikes and you come up with a name that’s wittier than Enduring Eddy or sharper than Gary Gripper, join the fun and you might come away with a new mountain bike. Those who make the shortlist will also get a pair of the tyres labelled with their suggestion.
