Hoy and Pendleton to ride Manchester track world cup

Also: first outing for new Australian Jayco team

Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton are among 19 British riders who will take part in the Manchester round of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics from 30 October - 1 November.

The pair will race as part of the powerful Sky+HD team, which also includes Ross Edgar, Peter Mitchell and Jamie Staff. It will be Hoy's first international competition since his crash at the world cup meeting in Copenhagen at the start of 2009.

The rest of the British contingent will race as part of Team GB. The squad will feature six Olympic medallists as well as double junior world champion Becky James, who is making her senior debut in Manchester.

On the theme of debuts, the brand new Australian Jayco track team will race for the first time in Manchester. The five member squad was launched on Wednesday and is heavy with sprinting talent.

The team includes Daniel Ellis (21), Oceania champion in sprint and team sprint, Kaarle McCulloch (21), world and Oceania champion in team sprint and Oceania champion in 500m time trial, Jason Niblett (26), Oceania champion in team sprint, Shane Perkins (22), Australian Champion in keirin, sprint, kilometre time trial and team sprint and Oceania champion in the keirin, and Scott Sunderland the younger (21), Oceania Champion in time trial and team sprint.
