Islabikes, a British company which specialises in producing bikes for children (aged two years old and above) have launched their new range which includes a new model, upgraded components and colours, as well as some neat design tweaks over the old models.

The Creig 26 is the brand new model in the range – a hardtail for children who are serious about mountain biking. Featuring custom-tuned Rockshox Recon Air forks for lightweight riders and Avid Juicy disc brakes with modified levers for small hands it’s suitable for riders around 9 to 13 years of age. The machine costs £599.99.

Improvements have been made to the Rothan Scoot bike (suitable for kids from 2 years old), which include: A lighter frame; lighter, stronger forks; an optional rear brake with a custom lever for small hands and an integral steer limiter to protect the rear brake cable during offs.

The Cnoc range of 14” and 16” wheel bikes have also gained new custom rear brake levers, a lighter frame, integral steer limiter and, in addition, have upgraded chromoly handlebars.

The Beinn range follows the trend with a lighter frame, but now has lower gearing ratio for increased off road performance. The Beinn also comes in a new size for older children (12yrs +) and is available in pink.

The Luath range of drop handlebar bikes rounds off the changes, and gains a new size this year, which is suitable for children aged 13+.
