This is Cannondale’s onBIKE, a limited edition machine with a single-sided chainstay, fully enclosed chain and single-sided Lefty fork.
Developed from the On concept bikes which debuted at the 2007 Eurobike trade show, the onBIKE pictured here is one of only 99 in Europe and 250 throughout the world, so we’re very lucky to get our hands on it.
Built for the commuter rider and to require as little maintenance as possible, the £3,999 ON uses the company’s “System Integrated Chain Case Technology” – with the chain protected ‘within the frame’ from dirt, grime and water.
The frame is handmade from 6061-T6 aluminium, with double-pass smooth welds to eliminate stress and the swingarm is machined from billet aluminium for stiffness and light weight.
Internally routed cables add to the clean lines of the bike, and the 80mm travel HeadShok Solo w/DL50 fork completes this one-sided eye-catching model.
