Organisers are planning to rework the course for the 2010 Kona Bristol Bikefest after heavy downpours made for slow going at last year's event.

But they're promising that they won't be taking "the fun sections and the flow" out of the racing, which takes place on the weekend of 5-6 June at the Ashton Court Estate.

The 12-hour team and solo riders will test their mettle on the Saturday, with a six-hour enduro and three-hour novice event on the Sunday.

Entertainment will be provided by a DJ on both nights plus live music on the Saturday, and there'll be an event village with the latest bikes and kit.

This year the event has additional support from Mercedes-Benz, who will be showing off their Vito-Sport range. To enter or find out more, visit www.bike-fest.com.

No more Cheddar

Organisers have decided not to hold a Kona Cheddar Bikefest this year and are trying to line up an alternative venue in the South West. The event is scheduled to take place in the autumn. We'll update you when we know more.
