After an eight-year association with the mountain biking world, Taiwanese bike manufacturer Merida will throw its hat into the pro cycling ring for the 2013 season.

They will team up with UCI ProTeam Lampre – currently known as Lampre-ISD – to become Team Lampre-Merida for the next three seasons. As well as being a co-title sponsor, they will supply the team with bikes and equipment.

The team will use Merida’s top-of-the-line race bike, the Scultura SL, as well as a soon-to-be-launched "developed from scratch" time trial bike. Bikes for the cobbled classics and flatter Grand Tour stages will also be unveiled throughout the year.
