British folding bike company Mezzo unveiled its new top-of-the-range bike, the Mezzo D10, at the Core trade show earlier this week.

The D10 will be available in June and will cost £845. The new bike is aimed at riders who want a high-performance folder. It features a new aluminium monocoque frame and sheds 350g over the current range-topper, the D9, which weighs around 11kg.

Drivetrain is Shimano 105 front mech and 56 tooth chainset mated to a SRAM 11-22 rear cassette giving a 32-82in spread of gears, Shimano’s latest flat bar shifters take care of the changes. The D10 comes in one colour only – black (well it’s faster).

New colours (chocolate and green) are going to feature on bikes further down the Mezzo range such as the £649 D9 (Mezzo’s biggest seller) and the £499 base model i4.

A revamped range of Mezzo specific luggage is also part of the range for 2008 alongside a new bike bag selling for £49 which is big enough to fit other brands of folding bike too.
