New black and blue cross-country trails too

A new freeride area is set to open at Coed Llandegla trail centre in North Wales this weekend. It follows hot on the heels of the launch of new black and blue rated cross-country trails in the forest.

The new trail contains doubles, step-downs and drop-offs, and doesn't have any 'chicken runs', so it's not for the faint-hearted. Former Team BikeRadar downhiller Neil Donoghue will be the first down the course, at 2pm today, before it opens to the public.

To coincide with the launch, Llandegla is hosting its biggest ever demo day on Saturday. There'll be bikes from Orange, Santa Cruz, Yeti, Ghost, Ibis and Kona. Expect stands from Fox clothing, Five Ten shoes and Madison Products too. All money raised will be donated to Wales Air Ambulance.

The new black-rated Parallel Universe trail opened in September, shortly after being ridden by the crew from Ride Guide TV. Last weekend saw the launch of True Blue, described as "2.1km of fast, fast, fast, fun, flowing gravity-fed blue grade singletrack" that's "a real blast to ride".
