New Australian road team GreenEDGE have announced they've signed a "multiple year" deal to ride Scott bikes. This season they'll be using the F01 aero road bike and Plasma 3 time trial machine.

The men's and women's ProTeam squads (but not the men’s Continental squad) will also be equipped with Scott helmets – the Vanish for road racing and an as-yet-unnamed new aero lid for time trials.

Scott Sports' vice president, Pascal Ducrot, said: "Joining forces with a new generation and international team like GreenEDGE is very exciting for us. [Team manager] Shayne Bannan has a long and very successful history in cycling as the Australian national team coach. His knowledge, paired with a solid financial foundation, will allow them to build a very dynamic and successful team, and Shayne’s vision of pushing technology as well as his demand for the best hi-tech equipment is the challenge we need in order to keep our leading position.”

He added: “The fact that the GreenEDGE team base in Italy is close to the Scott headquarters will allow a very close collaboration with riders and team management in order to design and build the best performing equipment." Bannan said he was impressed by Scott's commitment to research and development, and in particular their extensive wind tunnel testing. He said working with the company would give the team "an edge" on their competitors.

GreenEDGE hope to become the first Australian cycling team to obtain a ProTeam (previously ProTour) license, allowing them to compete in races such as the Tour Down Under, Giro D’Italia andTour De France.
