BikeRadar Live 2010, the UK’s ultimate bike festival, will take place on the weekend of the 10th-11th July at Brands Hatch in Kent – a circuit born from cycling.

A weekend celebration of all things cycling, a total of 8,500 riders and their families came to the inaugural event in 2009. 2010’s event promises to be even better with a fantastic new venue, more riders, more pros, more features and more races!

Located in the Garden of England, Brands Hatch is a spectacular venue with superb facilities. The layout of the circuit means that the track action will be so much closer to the heart of the festival so visitors can get closer to the action. A fantastic sportive route will run through the North Downs, and there will be incredible viewing facilities of the dual slalom and dirt jump features. The event will also feature a bigger Expo area, an all-weather mountain bike loop, world-class camping facilities and on-site restaurants catering specifically for competitors.

The famous racing circuit of Brands Hatch was born from cycling in 1926 when the land at Brands Hatch Farm became a popular venue for cycling and time trials. This historic legacy is now set to return to the roots of Brands Hatch as cycling comes home!

The event is also ideal preparation for the circuit’s involvement in the London 2012 Olympics, as Brands Hatch has been listed as a potential road cycling training camp.

Whatever you ride, BikeRadar Live offers you a chance to test-ride the latest road and mountain bikes, see the pros in action, ride Brands Hatch circuit on your own bike, or challenge yourself in one of the many races and challenges. Whether you want to ride 1k or 100k, on the road or off-road, there is something for every type of cyclist.

BikeRadar Live 2009 saw some of the biggest names in cycling wow the crowds with their skill - stars such as Graeme Obree, Stephen Roche, World Champion Steve Peat, Brian Lopes, Gee Atherton, Greg Minaar, Sam Reynolds, Danny MacAskill and Formula 1 driver Mark Webber plus many more.

BikeRadar Live 2010 will be bigger and better with more to see and do for the whole family. The festival’s many attractions will include spectacular all-weather stunt displays, dirt jump and dual slalom competitions, a cycling film festival and big top entertainment including live music. Festival-goers will be able to grab show-only deals on bikes and accessories in a purpose-built bike and accessories Expo, and test-ride the latest bikes in the UK’s biggest demo day.

Mike Groves, Brands Hatch circuit manager, added: “We’re delighted to be hosting BikeRadar Live next season as it adds another dimension to our 2010 calendar. Brands Hatch’s natural amphitheatre is an ideal venue for spectators and competitors, and I’m sure we can expect some great racing and a fantastic family atmosphere. With Brands Hatch shortlisted as a possible cycling training camp for the 2012 Olympics, it’s a perfect time for us to raise our profile within the cycling community and we hope that the event attracts a new audience to the circuit.”

It’s the perfect festival for the whole family, with special activities to keep the kids entertained, including the return of the CycleActiveSkillsSchool which is the perfect introduction to cycling techniques for adults and children alike.
