The Pain on the Plain sportive starts in Tidworth, Wiltshire, this Sunday (25 July). The event is set to take in some of the best routes across Salisbury Plain, as well as military-only roads.
All proceeds from entry will go to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (www.ssafa.org.uk). There’s also the option to raise extra funds through sponsorship; forms are available online.
Route details have now been announced: there's a short 62-mile course and a longer 90-mile one for more hardcore riders. A family ride will also be open to those who want a gentle pootle through the garrison town of Tidworth and its nearby villages.
