Race against Sky's Olympic road pros in London

£8,000 Pinarello up for grabs in Wattbike challenge

Pro riders from Team Sky will swap their usual Pinarellos for static Wattbikes next Friday (26 November) to race against workers in the City of London.

Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and Ben Swift will all be at Broadgate Circle for the IG Markets Square Mile Challenge, which will see them take on all comers over a one-mile virtual course.

Prizes will be up for grabs, including a team-issue Pinarello Dogma and a replica Team Sky Pinarello FP1. Any competitor able to beat a Team Sky rider will be rewarded with a team-issue Dogma worth over £8,000. We predict that's not going to be an easy task but at least there's a prize for the fastest non-Sky rider on the day – a replica Team Sky FP1 worth £1,200.

The Square Mile Cycle Challenge, which is being hosted by Team Sky's new official partners, IG Group, will take place between 10am and 3.30pm. Registration is open to everyone and must be completed in advance. To sign up to race, visit www.igmarkets.co.uk/cycling.

There'll be commentary from Eurosport’s David Harmon and live footage of all the action will be displayed on a big screen. There'll be a free bike service for spectators, and they'll be able to meet Team Sky riders.
