Joining Rapha’s Pro Team collection for 2015 is the new Aero Jersey, which has been created to offer an aerodynamic advantage thanks to a slim-fitting race cut. This 'free speed' will cost you £130 / US$195 / AU$210.

Developed in collaboration with Team Sky, the new jersey separates out the top section of the company’s one-piece Aerosuit – also launched today in the Data Print design sported recently by Peter Kennaugh – to give an aero benefit on the upper body while maintaining the versatility of a traditional jersey.

Rapha’s used a new stretchy fabric on the front of the jersey, allowing the seams to be relocated behind the shoulders. The trio of rear pockets is also more streamlined, now fitting flush to the back to avoid causing extra drag.

The rear pockets sit close to the body and are mesh lined for better ventilation:

The sides of the jersey, the tail and the interior of the pockets are constructed from a mesh fabric for breathability, while the whole jersey is treated with heat-reflecting coldblack technology. The jersey is available in black, green and coral red.

With Team Sky having been riding variations on the jersey over the last couple of seasons – Rapha says it’s become the go-to racing jersey for the team – we’re hoping that some of the regular problems with skin-tight apparel, such as constant riding up, won’t be an issue.
