Rapha has embraced the adventure cycling trend with a new range of products designed for cyclists who like to "ride until life looks less familiar", named the Explore Collection.

The first group of products to be launched, in what is likely to be an expanding range, include Cargo Winter Tights, Cargo Bibs and Technical T-shirts.

The clothing in the new range is designed to be practical when riding for long hours, through all sorts of weather and when travelling from place to place.

Its new Cargo Winter Tights have pockets not only on the lower back, where you'd usually find jersey pockets located, but also on the thigh of each leg — three of which have water-resistant zip closures.

There are large reflective panels on each calf and a reflective strip across the bum area too, which is, as it happens, right in the driver's line of sight. Rapha has chosen a reflective material that is black when not illuminated, so you don't need to be concerned about a flouro yellow bum stripe.

To ward off the winter weather, the fabric is fleece-backed with water repellent fabric, and the chamois features perforations that Rapha claims help the tights dry quicker. A soggy chamois is no fun for anyone.

For those who prefer their adventures in warmer climes, the range also includes a bib-shorts version of the Cargo Winter Tights, this time made from Rapha's water resistant Shadow fabric — with four pockets (two rear, one on each leg) and reflective strips.

The Explore Technical T-shirt is constructed from the same fabric as Rapha's Flyweight jersey, but with a loose and more casual fit. It has a large reflective stripe across the chest and that all-important antimicrobial coating so you should remain fresh-smelling and pong-free on multi-day rides, according to Rapha.
