Reynolds rolls into fat bikes with the Dean

Carbon fat bike wheelset with 80mm wide rims

Fat bikers looking for a lightweight wheelset now have another option to choose from. Reynolds Cycling is introducing its first fat bike wheelset, the Dean.

The Dean is built using Reynolds' Black Label carbon rims. These tubeless-ready rims have a double-walled design with a hookless-bead profile. The rims have an external width of 85mm and an internal width of 80mm — a good middle-ground that makes them suitable for 4 or 5in-wide fat bike treads.

The 32-hole rims are laced to Industry Nine hubs. Front hub spacing is 150mm while the rear is available in either 177x12 or 197x12mm thru-axle standards.

The Dean is offered with Shimano or SRAM XD freehub bodies.

Claimed weight for the wheelset is 2,150g.

The Dean is available now. US pricing is set at $2,650. (UK and Australian pricing TBA.)
