A 60-mile sportive is being organised for Michael Bonney, the MD of Orange Bikes who suffered life changing injuries after crashing in an event earlier this year.

The Ride for Michael Bonney Sportive, run by Epic Events, will take place in Penrith, Cumbria, on Sunday 29 September. The route is described as "undulating but does not climb any major hills or mountains" and will be held on quiet, scenic roads around Penrith, Appleby and Milburn. Protective helmets will be compulsory.

Entries cost £20, with all proceeds going to the Michael Bonney fund and the Epic Kidz charity, which supports volunteer groups throughout northwestern UK. You can enter online here and more information on the ride is available on the Epic Events website.
