Ride with Robbie McEwen set for 2013

Sydney to host exclusive cycling event

Australian Robbie McEwen, who recently retired from the professional ranks, is giving a select group of fans a chance to ride with him in Sydney early next year.

The event, slated for 2 February 2013 will be limited to 60 cyclists who will be selected via a ballot. As it's sponsored by Mastercard, you need to be a Mastercard holder to enter. If you're one of the 60 riders drawn on 20 December 2012, you will have three days to redeem your spot.

Such an exclusive event doesn’t come without a price, however. Ballot winners will be required to purchase a $250 ticket to be eligible for the two hour Sydney ride that includes nutrition and hydration for the journey, buffet lunch, McEwen’s autobiography and a Robbie McEwen cycling jersey.

A final requirement is the ability to ride in a bunch at a speed of 30km/h for the two hour duration. General bunch skills are essential as the route follows a demanding profile.
