Rotwild mountain bikes are making a return to the UK market, and their range spans everything from the R.R2 lightweight race hardtail to the RED downhill machine.

Richie Schley, one of the pioneers of the freeride scene, has been riding and developing Rotwild’s bikes since 2007, and Russia's Irina Kalentieva became world cross-country champion aboard a Rotwild last year.

Spence James of Bike Stuff, who are bringing the bikes to the UK, told us: "We were pretty unaware of Rotwild until we saw a 10-minute video of Richie Schley in action demonstrating the bike's virtues. It was awesome – so awesome we’ve even put a version of it on the website.

"After that we investigated more about Rotwild and discovered that they have been consistently winning World Championship and Olympic medals since 1996."

And if you're wondering how well the new bikes handle, James thinks you're going to be impressed. "We have total confidence in the riding performance," he said. "If they’re good enough for a world champion and three professional teams, they’re certainly good enough for me!"

"There is one thing you notice about riding a Rotwild – it just flows," he added. "The bike feels balanced and strongly poised to take on anything really. It seems like the only limit is going to be the rider. The bikes are going to be perfect for anyone wanting to get more out of themselves."
